Maxxis REKON

A light-duty trail tire designed to go fast in technical terrain. I will not say down-country (well, besides now) in this post.

Why every bike tire doesn't come with a tan wall is beyond me. Sidewall protection or not, look good, feel good = RIDE FAST!

A light-duty trail tire designed to go fast in technical terrain. The REKON shines in Hard-packed to loose conditions: front or ear installation.

Maxxis REKON

  • $82 (per tire)

  • Support your local bike shops; every bike shop carries Maxxis

  • Order online now here

This is my first time running a more "trail" tire vs. an enduro tire. I'm very happy with the noticeable speed on the flats and straights. I'm very impressed with the grip on corners and don't feel Maxxis gave them a great score in that category.

What's RAD

  • Tan wall

  • Dual compound, 3C MaxxSpeed, or 3C MaxxTerra options

  • EXO or EXO+ puncture protection options

  • Tubeless Ready (TR)

  • Front or Rear installation so you can be matchy, matchy

Not so RAD

  • You can't run the same Maxxis tires on your vehicle, but they do offer a vehicle line.

Kook Tip

  • Find a tire that fits your local trail system, not what the pros are riding. If you can run more of an XC/Trail tire at your local spot, try them vs an enduro set, you'll be blown away at the speed.
