Bikepacking adventure made easy
Bikepacking or Vanlife? Why not both
Not just for bikepacking! I love this tent, the shortstik poleset, which allows your tent to pack down into a smaller size. Great to transport on your bike handlebars and even better for saving space in the van.
Big Agnes Blacktail 3 Hotel Bikepacking
Tent :$449.95, Tent Floor Protector $69.95-$99.95
You can pick up Big Agnes at your local outdoor/bike shop or at Big Agnes
Where it shines: When you're on the side of the road/trail in need of tools
The Big Agnes Blacktail hotel comes with shortened poleset for optimal handlebar, pannier, and saddlebag storage. The Blacktail also comes with a burly bikepacking-ready compression sack that attaches readily to your bike. With that said (thanks, Big Agnes), it makes it the perfect tent to leave in the van to save space! With a dog known to have the zoomies kick in anytime, floor protection is a must. It also adds a nice touch to a cold floor or place for Bodhi to lay down. You can pick up Big Agnes gear at your local outdoor/bike shop or from Big Agnes.
What's RAD
Quality/Price/Size
Easy setup
Shortstik Poleset (aka smaller poles which equals smaller pack)
Extended Vestibule (keep your bike and gear out of the elements) Great for changing too
Not so RAD
The weight might be a tad high for the crowd that counts every gram, but this can fit three people plus their bikes and gear in the extended vestibule.
Kook Tip
Make sure you add the Blacktail 3 Hotel footprint. It will help protect your tent floor, especially if you're setting up at night and can't see what might tear your floor
